Abstract: Student Account Services at the University of Central Florida wanted to address and decrease the number of students dropped for non-payment from their courses. Working with the Center for Distributed Learning, one method to notify students to their pending drop for non-payment status is the use of the campus’ learning management system to communicate and alert students. Students want more of their information and notifications in one place and stated that they were not checking their University email or logging into the University’s student portal. It was believed that students would respond better and faster if the message was delivered in the learning management system. This led to a decrease in students dropped for non-payment.
