Share Paper: The Nature of Learner Interaction in Internet-Enhanced Collaboration: A Case Study in Freshmen English Class in Taiwan

Abstract: This study explores learner interactions with the support of online resources in a collaborative writing task and how online resources assisted learners’ meaning-making process. 56 freshman students enrolled in the freshman English course at a national university in Taiwan participated in the study. Students constructed an essay in pairs in the two settings, without and with the Internet support. Each pair’s interactional discourse and dynamics of scaffolding across the two settings were examined.
