Abstract: This study investigates whether and how creativity could be amplified in group collaborations by intentionally exercising principles of dialectics. On a power engineering project, 15 teams including 53 male and 23 female college freshmen participated in this study. A guideline and a Creativity Engineering System were developed to provide a dialectic-oriented structure for group discussions. Qualitative and quantitative data were collected. Several tentative findings emerged.
