Abstract: Laboratory courses are at the intersection of theory and practice, introducing students to new and essential experimental techniques. An ongoing challenge for laboratory instructors is providing resources and strategies that best assist students in understanding and replicating protocols in the lab. This presentation describes the impact of online video-based content on the learning success and confidence of 251 students enrolled in 3rd-year Human Biology laboratory courses at the University of Toronto. This video content, deemed the LABVIDEOTORY, consisted of laboratory demonstrations of key student experiments and short embedded 2D animations that helped to explain relevant experimental scientific theory.
