Abstract: Session explores intellectual property issues of especial interest to graduate students, such as the vexed question of ownership of thesis or dissertation material. For grad students in the US, there’s also the question of whether submitting your paper through ProQuest Dissertation disqualifies you from submitting the same work for publication elsewhere. Should you try for print journals only? What about blogs, online articles and WordPress? Which—if any—open access journals will protect your rights? And perhaps most important, what should you do if you discover that your work has bene pirated?
