Abstract: This paper first provides background information about the development of a college-level hybrid course on global competencies and then presents the instructional design process that follows the ADDIE model. In this increasingly interconnected world, it is of greatest importance to equip students and citizens with global competencies, which refer to knowledge and skills that people need in order to succeed in the 21st century. The paper focuses on the first three phrases (analysis, design and development) of the design model, provides examples to illustrate key points and concludes with a plan for future implementation.
