21st Century Values: An Examination of the Attitudes of Finnish Educational Leaders in the Implementation of Digitalization in Finnish Basic Education
Abstract: Digital tools are a core part of education today. Preparing students for the future requires digital literacy skills and digital competence from both teachers and students. This paper takes account the core values of Finnish basic education focusing on using an ethical lens to examine how, by whom, what logic and what ideologies are the base when reforms such as digitalization are organized. It examines and represents the perspectives of a local educational leaders as the implementers of ongoing national and governmental digitalization projects in Finland as well as their decision-making process when promoting digitalization in schools.
