Abstract: The ongoing relationship forged between faculty and instructional developer (ID) as they create an online course is unique and engaging requiring both pedagogical and technical expertise (Caplan & Graham, 2004). As faculty and ID collaborate in the course development, they embark on a journey of exploring how the process is supported by a peer-based approach to quality assurance (Quality Matters) and continuous improvement in online education, how to implement it and adapt it in specific course contexts.
