Share Paper: An instructional design project: Cultivate global competence through an online course for English teachers

Abstract: The purpose of this instructional design project is to cultivate intercultural competence for English as a foreign language (EFL) teachers in an online module. Fostering intercultural competence is crucial for EFL teachers to thrive in the era of globalization. However, current online resources that incorporate EFL classes with intercultural components are inadequate. To equip EFL teachers with necessary skills, four professional development lessons were developed. The design of these lessons is based on the attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction (ARCS) model.
