Application of Augmented Reality Apps for the Enhancement of a Community Science Drought Monitoring Project
Roundtable
ID: 55226
Abstract: This presentation will highlight the process of designing an Augmented Reality Application (AR App) for a community science drought monitoring project. The AR app enables users to trigger an AR code on a rain gauge using a smartphone, a tablet, or an iPad. After a successful triggering, multimedia instructions will pop up and guide users on how to use a rain gauge to effectively monitor drought conditions. The study will report on how people use the AR app and their experiences. Then, the study will discuss other applications of the AR app as applicable to community science projects.
