Abstract: To prevent the explosive spread of COVID-19, Japan’s primary, middle and high schools and special schools closed classes nationwide from March to May in 2020, which awakened the nation to the need for remote classes. The Graduate School of Teacher Training Development, University of Toyama also delivered full remote lectures from April to August in 2020. Although we planned a joint workshop for the graduates working for primary, middle, and high schools and special schools as regular teachers and its current students, preventing the explosive spread of COVID-19 made it difficult to conduct such a workshop face-to-face. Therefore, we conducted a remote workshop. Using Zoom’s breakout room and other facilities, we tried to make it productive for both graduates and students. Results of the follow-up questionnaire suggest that the participants regarded the workshop as productive, pleasant, and helpful. They wanted to participate in it again. Results also demonstrated that they did not care whether it was conducted as face-to-face or remotely.
