ImageQuiz: A Visual Responder System for Large Classes
Abstract: Responder systems have been shown to be an effective way to stimulate student-student and student-instructor discourse even in large survey classes, …so why not take that concept and extend it to the exploration of visual information? This presentation explores the use of "ImageQuiz", a responder system for visual learners that anticipates the day when students routinely carry wireless Internet-enabled technologies into class. With ImageQuiz the instructor (or whoever the instructor allows) can specify any image on the Internet and pose a question that requires a point or drawn response. Student responses are assimilated projected for all to see. The students are then asked to discuss their individual responses with their peers and eventually resubmit in small groups. In this presentation you will participate in ImageQuiz both as student and instructor using your own laptop or provided PocketPC's.
