Abstract: MyTeachingPartner (MTP) is a two-year teacher professional development project, which employs a variety of technologies to support the professional and curricular needs of 235 pre-K teachers working with at-risk students across Virginia. At the core of the resources offered by MTP is an educational website that features more than 200 video clips designed to give teachers a better understanding of emotional and instructional support strategies for the pre-K classroom. In providing these resources, MTP researchers aim to provide teachers with a way of identifying and implementing strategies that will promote desired learning outcomes for their own classroom. Two main considerations were present in the development of these video clips: The goal to capture footage that accurately demonstrated activity objectives and teaching strategies promoted by MTP in an authentic manner, and the need to produce video at scale in a cost-effective manner. This paper will describe a six-step collaborative video production process that evolved as a result of these two considerations.
