Applying Application Portfolio Management to Elearning Course Management.

Abstract: Using Information Technology Portfolio Management (ITPM) for eLearning activities will provide strategic alignment to the institutions goals and objectives. ITPM provides a framework to prioritize projects based on risk and reward and has 25-year history in the literature. A solid empirical base of research indicates the effectiveness of ITPM in aligning IT to an organizations goals and mission. A recommendation is presented to the reader for adapting ITPM to eLearning activities, and suggestions are made for future research on using ITPM for eLearning activities.
