Abstract: The Center for Professional and Distance Education (CPDE) at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) is tasked with providing technical training, instructional design services, multimedia services, and teacher/learner support for distance education courses. Originally piloted in early 2007, our online course design workshop has grown from a limited, self-help resource model to a rich, varied online learning opportunity, with increased opportunities for interaction with the instructional design team, provision for collaboration among the participants, improved self-help resources, and interactive learner support tools, all offered in a supportive, nurturing and inspirational environment based on current good practices in distance education.
