Abstract: According to a wide array of research, the process of becoming a teacher seems to be greatly influenced by teaching practise and many students and teachers regard it as the cornerstone of teacher education. In this article we will describe a modern way to organise a practicum where the student teachers work in his/ her own class and are tutored by a local colleague and by a university teacher. My own class practicing period is an alternative teacher training form which was originally created by a teacher student. In this practicing period students will work in an authentic classroom situations working there as a substitute teacher, carrying the responsibility of teaching, as long as a half year period. In adult teacher training programme modern information technology is used to make studies possible to perform both present and distance. The students are skilled enough to use ITC versatile and that has made possible to organize one of the training periods to carry out in different schools all around Finland.
