Abstract: This paper presents the reviews of middle school teachers and principals who took part in a government-initiated dedicated notebook computer project as part of the province’s overall E-Learning strategy, from 2005 – 2007. The goal of the research project was to consider how providing middle school students and teachers with their own individual laptop computers in a wireless networked environment would affect the learning experiences and instructional approaches in their classrooms. The results of the research project indicates that a large majority of students, teachers and school administrators involved in the initiative successfully implemented the laptop project in their schools and there is a wide body of survey and interview data that suggest that student learning and improved teaching practice has been a result of this new technology introduced by the provincial government.
