When college students take economics, many of them feel intimidated by the economic theories relying heavily on mathematical formulas. Economics appears to them as a dull and challenging subject. As the Program Architect for Economics at DeVry Online, I have devoted my attention to making learning economics fun in cyber classrooms. Face-to-face interaction is effective when illustrating the abstract concepts. Consequently, teaching economics in the on-campus classes can be less challenging than in the cyber classrooms. I have discovered the issues that are particularly pertinent to creating exciting and effective online economic classes, and have developed solutions by continuously tailoring interactive learning tools. When developing and managing economic master shells for courses, I have sought the best online learning strategies and techniques that are able to appeal to all learning styles. At the Best Practices session, I will discuss designing, developing and implementing success strategies to transform dull economic learning into fun learning in cyber classrooms.
