Abstract: The paper presents a research in progress work pertaining to virtual learning environment in the Malaysian scenario from the instructor’s perspective. Based on previous literature, several factors were found to influence the effectiveness of VLE. The factors were categorised into organisational, technological and instructional factors. Top management support and faculty training are two major factors identified as the organisational factors.
