Abstract: Today’s learners are the primary citizens in the new user-generated participatory Web, known as “Web 2.0” or the “read-write Web.” In contrast to the previous metaphor of “Internet as information superhighway” (i.e., Web 1.0), Web 2.0 represents new ways of using and thinking about the Internet.
