Abstract: Scott Macklin demonstrates how he employed online social networking software like Base Camp, MySpace, Face book, Photo bucket, and Skype to work with artists and teachers from South Africa to produce a feature length documentary film, Masizakhe: Building Each Other. The film takes viewers on a journey to the Eastern Cape city of Port Elizabeth, South Africa to explore the collective identity of a group of dynamic young artists dedicated to the upliftment of their community using technology to promote cultural activism.
