Abstract: E-District is a technology implementation project adopted by Hayward Unified School District, located at Hayward, California. The project has been launching since February 2006. It is a Web-based wireless network adoption project with a goal to catapult the district into the 21st century. The project was created to permit teachers to display lessons and teaching materials online and to enable parents and students to have access to schedules, lessons, and grades. E-District project is modeled after a program, used in Eagle Heights Academy, a large urban community school in Youngstown, Ohio. The technology used by both school districts was ACTIVboard Collaborative Classroom System, developed by Promethean (http://www.prometheanworld.com/).
