Abstract: This paper reports on the findings of a study to analyze the nature of online support provided through asynchronous conferences used in wiki skills training and development of distance learning materials in an Asian developing country. With a purposive integrative review as the basis, the study used a Transcript Analysis Protocol for Online Support (TAPOS) developed by the author. Results of the study show low level of learner engagements in online interaction and co-construction of knowledge. Mostly the Google Group was used to communicate completion of task performances, and revealed 'affective support' as the major interaction type. Usage pattern of WikiEducator and the Google Group revealed poor access to Internet among the trainee participants, which had impact on the learning and interaction. Twenty-three participants could develop lessons on WikiEducator though a template driven approach.
