Abstract: More and more adults, including faculty, are joining social networking sites such as Facebook. These sites provide teachers with new opportunities to reach their students and improve their learning. However, as faculty register and begin using Facebook, they are confronted with how they should interact with students on the site. How are teachers to know which behaviors (e.g., sending friend invitations) students would find appropriate and which behaviors students would find inappropriate?
