Abstract: Hearing loss has a devastating impact on the development of children’s English-language literacy skills. This paper presents a narrative of the design, development, and future integration of a web-based progress-monitoring environment in the area of reading, writing, and language development for use with children (grades 1-8) who are deaf or hard of hearing (DHH), with the potential for application to other populations of students with language difficulties.
