Abstract: There are few available tools that assess learners’ visualization tendency and can be used to provide useful guidance for the design of learning materials. This study discusses the development, testing and cross-validating of a tool to measure visualization tendency of individual learners. The final version of the test includes 20 items in five factors of visualization tendencies, namely Generative Visualization, Space-Motor Visualization, Instrumental Visualization, Proactive Visualization, and Representational Visualization. Visualization tendencies identified through this test can help educators and instructional designers design and develop learning materials in a more individualized manner to promote effective and efficient understanding of each learner and also develop lacking visualization tendencies of the learners to enhance their ability to use visual modality more appropriately during the learning process.
