Abstract: Web 2.0 is shifting and challenging authorship, culture, community, media and the business world. Educators need to understand this shift and how the new Internet can influence education, learning, potential benefits and perils of issues that may emerge. In this study, preservice and inservice teacher educators and candidates from two Colleges of Education, one in a rural and one in an urban higher education setting, were surveyed on their understanding and use of Web 2.0 tools. This presentation will discuss the findings and implications of Web 2.0 tools in schools and in preservice and inservice teacher education programs.
