Share Paper: The Use of Wikis for Collaboration in Corporations: Perceptions and Implications for Future Research

Abstract: This study examines perceptions and issues of corporate people related to collaboration and its tools, and specifically wikis in corporations. First, to identify interest in collaboration tools, a research interest survey for collaboration tools in corporations was conducted and 93 corporate people participated in the survey. Second, to verify main collaboration issues in corporations, group discussions were implemented. Findings indicated that participants in the survey were most interested in wikis among various collaboration tools. In addition, collaboration issues in corporations were condensed into five main issues including factors considered when selecting and using collaboration tools.
