This symposium will provide a comprehensive overview of the new literacies theoretical framework and practices in the classrooms. Three sections will be presented: (1) definition of new literacies and their alignment with technology standards, (2) teacher education online web-based curriculum for acquiring new literacies, and (3) information and communication technologies (ICTs) used to cultivate K-12 students’ new literacies. The target audience of this symposium includes teacher educators, K-12 teachers, school administrators, and educational technology specialists who are interested in learning new literacies and practical strategies for classroom implementation.
