Analysis of Influential Variables on Performance-based ICT literacy Level for Korean Students
Abstract: The aim of the study is to investigate influential variables on performance-based ICT literacy level for Korean high school students. For 143 high school students, the assessment was implemented and the students’ finished products were scored by raters using the web-based test system. Then, the effect of students' background characteristics (gender, high school sector, computer subject-taken, computer use, self-confidence in ICT tasks) on performance-based ICT literacy was analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The results show that ‘self-confidence in general ICT tasks’ was a statistically significant variable on ICT literacy level for Korean senior high school students. Also, when using the ANOVA, it is evident that the ‘poor’ academic achievement group has the lower performance-based ICT literacy level than ‘fair’ and ‘good’ groups in most subjects.
