Designing a Mobile Laboratory for Collecting Usability Data
Tuesday, October 18 3:25-3:45 PM Location: Ni'ihau
Presider: Pasquina Campanella, University of Bari "Aldo Moro", Italy
Abstract: We present best practices in designing and creating a travelling usability data collection laboratory from five years’ experience in the “Information Experience Laboratory”. Examples will be presented to demonstrate how to balance the needs of clients and researchers with available resources. The presentation will provide a comprehensive checklist to assist with the design process. Specific lessons learned will be shared in designing and creating two separate travelling laboratories which have been utilized in usability data collection in Thailand, Singapore and Taiwan, as well as throughout the state of Missouri and the Midwest.
