Leadership in Distance Education: Do we need a Leadershift?
Brief Paper
ID: 34166
Abstract: Leadership in distance education is not clearly defined and many changes have occurred in the field. The use of technology in learning has grown exponentially and distance education within this growth must be adeptly guided in order to be sustained. There are many leadership styles and external influences on leadership that make it difficult to clearly delineate what is needed in today’s leaders. This paper provides a distillation of these ideas into a prototype of a leader in today’s distance education environment.
