Abstract: This paper describes an educational innovation guided by an action research design that embeds podcast messages of encouragement from students into an introductory online course exploring professional nursing practice in a Post LPN BN program. When vocationally prepared Licensed Practical Nurses upgrade to the role of Registered Nurse in online university courses, they experience unique challenges. And yet, innovations geared to this group of adult learners are limited. The course for this innovation is asynchronous, self paced and text based.
