Best Practice in Flexible Delivery

Abstract: Most people are always willing to learn something new however, the way learning is delivered is often counter productive. Whether learning is on the job, online or in the classroom, learners must be actively involved in the learning process and see some relevance in what is being taught. Winston Churchill is quoted as saying; ‘I am always ready to learn although I do not always like being taught’ This statement by Churchill is particularly true of building and construction trade apprentices and their teachers who, because of the practical, hands on nature of their work, like to get in and ‘just do it’. This Roundtable is aimed at discussing the issues associated with providing innovative approaches for flexible delivery to building and construction apprentices.
