Abstract: The federal legislation that governs special education, called the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), mandates that students with disabilities be educated through inclusion in the general education curriculum and activities. Effective inclusion which has several components to it benefits both special and regular education students. One essential component for an effective inclusive education which is often overlooked is Assistive Technology (AT).
