Abstract: Our university is among the more than 350 educational institutions using Sakai as an on-line technology for teaching on-line and hybrid courses. The integration of on-line learning experiences with traditional classroom meetings has been an on-going project in selected graduate education courses. These students had a professor in the classroom and access to a closed course on-line delivery for assignments and learning activities. End of the course surveys were used to collect data relative to students’ perceptions, preferences, acceptance, comfort level and recommendations for improving the process. The next phase of this experience is to develop full on-line graduate education classes. The Community of Inquiry Survey data collected in 2011 will serve as base line data for guiding the development of full on-line graduate education courses.
