Share Paper: Managing an International Collaborative & Learning Network

Abstract: This presentation outlines lessons learned in coordinating learning and research activities among a five-university partnership which focuses on usability studies. The partners included one institution in the United States and universities in Thailand, Singapore, China and Taiwan. Successful strategies to plan, coordinate and communicate are shared, particularly technological solutions utilizing easily-available and free social networking, VOIP and instant messaging applications. Examples and mutual benefits of collaborative work in usability will be described.
