Abstract: Work place training and performance development is a permanent and crucial component in today’s professional and occupational environment. As a rapidly expanding instructional approach and performance development platform, e-Learning continues to be applied as an effective training tool for nearly every sector of society. The healthcare industry, and specifically hospitals and clinics, benefit in a multitude of ways by incorporating web-based training systems into the occupational skills enhancement and compliance initiatives of these organizations. This paper reports a successful collaboration between a university and a medical center in central coast California on carrying out an e-learning intervention to train 700+ nurses to use an Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) system. Collaboration process, challenges, product design and development strategies, and the findings of the evaluation were discussed in the report.
