Online Learning and Promoting Assessment

Abstract: Online learning requires the reconstruction of learner and instructor roles and practices. Assessment is an integral component of the teaching and learning process. There is a distinction between assessment of learning versus assessment for learning. Assessment for learning places the student learning at the center for assessment as an instructional practice. The presentation will include what influences, promotes and facilitates assessment for learning as well as strategies and tips for implementing assessment in online learning environments.
