Abstract: In January 2006, UQAM adopted Moodle as its institutional LCMS. As Moodle gained large academic support, a reflective process on the development of a virtual learning environment for the university was launched. Based on the different needs and practices of various departments and programs, a single sign-on Moodle Federated Digital Learning Environment has been put into place to give the professors and the learners a set of tools to produce, distribute, share, manage, discuss and comment learning activities and contents.
