Blogging: an engaging E-Learning tool in adult education
Abstract: In this Best Practice session I want to introduce participants in the use of blogging by students as an engaging E-Learning tool, particularly in adult education. Centre for Adult Education 'CVO Antwerpen', in Antwerp, Belgium, uses blogging by students as a (self)-evaluation tool in the multimedia-course. After three years of trial-and-error we seem to be well on our way in finding how to make this tool work for us. We will present our evaluation of two free blogging-websites: Blogspot.com and Wordpress.com, and consider the advantages and disadvantages of each based on our own experience and on the feedback we received from students. Also, we will provide some easy tips and tricks as to how to make the tool work for you, how to write constructive feedback as well as consider some practical issues like time-management and moderation.
