Abstract: This paper is an examination of the process of the development of online study groups at XXXX College. This mode of online study differs from traditional online courses in its manner of development, focus and delivery. XXX has long been known as New York State's college for working adults. Since its inception in 1971, it has continually sought after ways to improve on modes of learning and has over the years diversified its offerings to include online courses through its Center for Distance Learning and through its seven regional centers, to offer unique mentor-learner course models such as: totally individualized independent studies, face-to-face group studies, blended residencies, and more recently, the online study groups described in this paper
