Abstract: The Finnish education system has received considerable media attention due to its results in the OECD Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) examinations. Many countries are considering ways to learn from the Finnish experience. This showcase examines Tampere University of Applied Sciences attempt to meet the demand for Finnish education by developing and implementing a fully online teacher development program, available globally. The first cohort of the program graduated in early 2013 in the United Arab Emirates.
