Share Paper: Applying Online Components to Foster Learning Operating Systems

Abstract: There is a need to improve course accessibility and guide student learning by supplementing classroom-learning activities for adult students to take an Operating Systems (OS) course at a branch campus of the University of Arizona. The paper presents a case study on designing and delivering a hybrid OS course. In addition to weekly face-to-face meetings, the hybrid course successfully employed online learning components to allow students more flexibility to manage their learning and extend interactions and collaborations among students and the class instructor.
