FROM PAPER TO SCREEN: DEVELOPMENT AND DELIVERY OF A PEDAGOGICALLY EFFECTIVE BLENDED LEARNING ENVIRONMENT IN A HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION

Abstract: The rapid development of a new e-learning industry inevitably impacts on the way higher education institutions design quality e-learning environments. The ever increasing demand and need from lecturers of a traditional university for a 21st century learning tool - in this case an interactive study guide - required the development of an user friendly e-learning platform that enables lecturers to create and moderate content for interactive study guides in a blended learning environment.This paper shares practical guidelines of how the presenter, with the university’s strategic goals in mind- to investigate and develop new and innovative approaches to teaching and learning technology, has facilitated the development of a pedagogically effective e-learning environment on campus. Strategies and solutions for best practice, as well as current and future plans for implementation of the project at the institution will be discussed.The interactive eguide as solution will also be showcased.
