Share Paper: Hybrid Education: An Effective Modality for K-12 Schools to Deliver Cybersecurity Education for Teachers and Staff

Abstract: This paper is a report on a study findings to assess the preferred method of delivering a cybersecurity, cybersafety and cyberethics (C3) education for K-12 teachers and staff. To meet federal and state compliance requirements, schools need to expand their Internet Safety program beyond covering topics of Internet Safety in its Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and require staff's sign-off to acknowledge reading and understanding the policy. An ongoing and on demand C3 educational program should be offered to schools' teachers and staff using a method of delivery that accommodates staff's technical skills and time constraints.
