Implications of Faculty Members on the Use of Embedded Plagiarism Application in Online Education

ID: 40295 Type: Virtual Showcase
  1. Ju Park, Indiana University Northwest, United States

Abstract: TurnItIn, the plagiarism detection/prevention program, has been used widely in higher education. However, because faculty members have to learn first and train their students to use the program effectively, a number of faculty members have been hesitant to apply. In an effort of resolving this issue at the Indiana University System, TurnItIn was embedded onto the current online education platform, in order for faculty members to instantly run the analysis report within the online platform. This showcase describes reflections of faculty members at the College of Arts and Sciences, based on faculty’s perspective.
