Abstract: The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act requires hospitals and medical centers to shift from a paper-based records system to an electronic medical records system (EMR) by 2015. According to the U.S. Department of Labor Statistics (2012), there are approximately 11 million people working in “healthcare practitioner and technical occupations” or “healthcare support occupations” in America.
