Abstract: This paper argues that language is a crucial cognitive component in learning, and that it provides the necessary linking structures for learning to happen. As such, the modeling of the representational infrastructure for language-based eLearning analytics needs to take into account the way natural language acts guide and support the execution of the learning events.
