Abstract: This paper presents the use of Web 2.0 technologies in a middle school language arts classroom. Students publish and respond to peers in their own blogs, develop and reflect and receive formative feedback on their online portfolio, collaborate on developing Prezis, and publish their own classroom online magazine. The use of these Web 2.0 technologies brings in 21st Century student outcomes such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, career skills, information media, and technology skills as well as the core subjects of reading, writing, research, social studies, science and math.
